2,300 DECA Sales and Marketing Students at

Downtown Detroit's Renaissance Center

From the northern tip of Mackinaw Island to the biggest landmark in Downtown Detroit, Nick At Night has performed all over Michigan.

On Friday, November 19th 2004, Nick At Night was invited to the DECA Regional Conference in Downtown Detroit's Renaissance Center Marriott Ballroom.  This event featured over 2,300 students from 14 different states in the DECA Central Region.  We are the official DJ service for Michigan DECA, an association of marketing students in Michigan schools. Nick At Night has worked in Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Mount Pleasant, Lansing and Albion, Michigan for student associations in the past.  We are the leader in music and video productions for student organizations and their annual conferences.

The DECA conference was a record breaking event for us, with the largest attendance of any previous event ever held by Nick At Night.  We performed a Music Video Dance Party with music videos and live dance floor action.  We brought in a staff of 5 audio/video technicians to handle the task.

Thanks to Ryan from Dance Break DJ Service in Livonia, we combined the resources from 4 separate sound systems to rock downtown Motown.  We were able to provide 8 speakers on top and 4 powered subwoofers for the massive crowd.  That's double the equipment from our Double Show Package!

Getting in and out of the Renaissance Center Marriott Ballroom proved to be very difficult.  We had to unload two vans in the underground loading dock shipping area, carry all of the audio and video gear to the shipping elevators up to the 3rd floor, then pull everything into the ballroom with only 2 hours scheduled for us to setup.  the legendary home of General Motors provided an awesome surrounding and an unforgettable evening for everyone in attendance.
