Giving
new meaning to the phrase "sporty
2-seater", Nick At Night picked up a new All
Wheel Drive GMC Safari mini van in June
2005 and modified it for DJ use.
"When
we find something that works," says
Nick, "we stick to it". All wheel
drive mini vans have been the vehicle of
choice for Nick At Night since day one.
This is the fourth mini van that we've
owned, and they are great for DJs.
The all wheel drive feature is perfect
for getting to events in snowy Michigan
winters.
When
you think about it, the DJ is the one
person that drives the furthest to
attend an event. This makes the
DJ's transportation very important.
For example, if Rochester High School is
hosting a winter dance and the roads are
snowy, the dance won't be cancelled
because all of the students attending
the event live within 10 miles of the
school. The DJ, on the other hand,
may be driving an hour to get to
Rochester. Therefore, the
transportation he chooses has to get him
there during risky road conditions.
Before
you laugh at the cool DJ in the
grocery-getter mini van, think about the
needs of the DJ. A DJ needs a
large amount of cargo capacity for the gear. You can't carry
a DJ
system in a Corvette. Hummers
aren't appropriate ether, because they
are too high above the ground. Try
lifting a 100 pound speaker 5 feet into
the air every weekend.
The
latest edition to our fleet is feature
packed with leather seats and rear heat
& air to warm the equipment on the way
to events. The Nick At Night crew
added XM satellite radio, a 400 watt sound system, GPS
navigation, and remote engine start.
Oh, and
don't get too close when you
see it. It's also equipped with a
two-way multi-zone alarm system.
The alarm features a keychain device
that alerts the owner when the alarm has
been activated.
So
smile and wave when you see the Nick
At Night van roll into town.
