Welcome to Nick and Amanda's wedding story! We, Nick Anderson and Amanda Edgley,
were married on July 2nd, 2005.
Here's
the Story, From the Top
It all started on October 25th, 1999. Amanda drove into the parking lot of local radio station CK 105.5. She had a favorite song in mind and intended to ask the DJ on duty for a taped copy of the song. She walked up to the station but the DJ on duty coldly told her that the station no longer makes tapes for listeners. Frustrated, Amanda began to walk away from the building and towards her car in the parking lot.
In the meantime, Nick had just pulled up in his red sports car and walked into the lobby of the radio station. Nick asked a co-worker what the
"cute blonde" was looking for and the co-worker told him that she wanted a song.
"No problem!" Nick said, "I have LOTS of songs in my personal
collection".
So Nick went out the door to catch Amanda, who was
"storming mad" (as she puts it) because her request was not honored. She was startled when Nick got her attention and asked her about the situation. Then he told her that he could fulfill her request for music. She agreed and they exchanged phone numbers.
Nick later allowed Amanda to help herself to other tunes, and assisted her with a musical number that was required for her college Criminal Justice course. They became best friends and began dating soon after.
Christmas of 1999 came and Amanda received a promise ring from Nick, but he was acting as St. Nick when he delivered it. Nick showed up at her
parents' home in a Santa suit that was a little too big for his size. A moment that will live on through the power of the home video camera.
A year went by and on Christmas of 2000 he took her up to a small wedding chapel in Frankenmuth and proposed to her. Nick had been thinking about how to pop the question for weeks. He had no clue even up to the minute before how it would all work out. The setting turned out to be perfect. He found a small chapel in Frankenmuth's Christmas Wonderland. There wasn't a sole in sight, but the doors were unlocked and Christmas music was playing softy in the background.
She said yes. And the wedding plans began.
They set the date and made plans for a wedding reception
on July 2nd, 2005 at Stonegate Banquet
Center.
The wedding took place at the lakefront
home of Amanda's Parents. The
reception was terrific, as their wedding
guests danced the night away.
